What the colors mean
Blue — Our content topics. The Census’s own classification, backed by verbatim, page-anchored quotes on each book’s page. A ✓ means three independent reviewers agreed a passage shows that topic.
Gold — Library of Congress. Subject headings the Library of Congress assigns to a book, each linking to its official authority record.
Red — A district’s own tags. The subject tags a school district lists publicly on its own online catalog (shown on a book’s page when you open it for a district). The screenshot is proof.
